Casa is Antonio Mazzei’s first trio record as a leader. The album contains 11 songs, 8 of which are his original compositions.

"I met Antonio Mazzei in 2018 when I decided to spend more time in Barcelona and made the fortunate decision to hire him to play piano with my quartet “JT4”.

The thing that I first noticed about Antonio’s playing are the strong, latin, romantic, folkloric influences of his Venezuelan upbringing, flowing through a modern jazz filter. One of his greatest powers is his use of dynamics to create drama and atmosphere and then using this to hold the audience’s attention in the palm of his hands like a musical magician.

I love the way he builds his solos from minimalist embers to roaring fire with a deliberate sense of pace, a natural sense of form and a rich tapestry of musically invoked imagery.

Antonio is an extraordinary story teller and his compositions are very well suited and designed to enhance his many stories.
